This bowl, made in 2002 is hand coiled, painted with all natural slips and paints and fired outdoors. Like in all of Steve’s work, the design elements fit the shape so well.
This piece shows Kachina faces in a dramatic way. The deep red slip in a square pattern around the opening sets off the golden hues of the rest of the bowl. It is stunning.
