We are so pleased to be working with the husband and wife team of Paulette and Farlan Quam. Paulette was born on 11/14/1971 and Farlan was born 08/10/1971. They got together in 1998. They have three children, two sons and a daughter. As a team, they have been carving for over twenty years. Paulette is the only person on her side of the family that is carving fetishes. Farlan and his half sister carve, but as Paulette told me “I taught Farlan how to carve, but now he got better than me! He does the grinding, shaping, and details, and I do the final finishing, like sanding, buffing, and shining. I tie the bundles. We’ve been together for 21 years and going strong!” They like to use picasso marble, picture jasper, bowlerite, and turquoise. They have a very distinctive style, and we really like their bears and snakes.
