Laguna potter Myron Sarracino uses patterns on old Tularosa pottery shards as inspiration and is known for his unique twists on traditional patterns, as well as for his fine, symmetrical handmade pieces. This jar, no exception to either, was handmade and hand painted and features myriad weather designs in black, painted atop a white backdrop. Cloud and rain patterns are apparent on top and bottom, while a band of whirlwind/step designs is painted around the center of the piece, breaking up the mirror image weather patterns.
