I have been honored to work with Mary for many years. She has stopped making pottery now, so having a piece from her is quite special. This piece, made in the 1980’s shows the grandfather, telling his stories with the drum and drum stick. Using all Native materials and techniques, it is a delightful figurine. So much communication has always been done in the Pueblos through song and dance, this is a great example of her work. Signed on the bottom “Mary Trujillo, Cochiti”

6” high by 4 ¾” wide
