Marie Lee
Navajo
I just met Marie in New Mexico, and I was enthralled with her work with fresh water pearls with turquoise and shell heishi. Marie Lee, a Navajo jeweler, continues to create original pieces. She started her business five years ago with the help of her mentor, Ivan Howard (an award-winning Navajo jeweler) and is captivating new collectors. Marie has resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1982, originally from Wide Ruins, Arizona: Navajo Nation. Marie is studying at Central New Mexico Community College and hopes to continue her education to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business at University of New Mexico. Her collectors are very flattered by her style of elegant strings of necklaces combining sleeping beauty turquoise beads, coral beads, heishi shells and pearls. She states, “I use with my exacting standards of quality in the careful selection of these treasures of our Mother Earth to include one-of-a-kind creations.”
