What a stunning new piece from Linda. The shape is lovely – very full and round, and the carvings are so soft and gentle. Hand coiled, and traditionally fired outside, it is a wonderful example of classic Santa Clara black ware. As Linda explained to me “These are a combination of some old designs of my father’s (Lee Tafoya) as well as my own. One is the wind blowing rain with Spring Showers. There are two geese migrating through the storm. Gourd flowers blooming and a beautiful cloud design.” The polishing and firing on this piece is so well done. It is always a pleasure to show Linda’s newest works.
