This new vase is fascinating. Different from anything we have had from Linda, it really features the mica work. But there is a magnificent deep carved eagle in the center – polished beautifully so those carvings are very pronounced against the plain background. As you turn the jar, there is a nicely carved diagonal band flowing from the bottom point all the way to the opening. In that band are Linda’s father’s designs – the swirl upward represents carrying their prayers for moisture carried on the eagle’s wings. That work is even more pronounced as she has made a polished border on both sides of those diagonally carved symbols. Beautiful work in every aspect of the vase.
