We are so pleased to have this new jar from Les Namingha. The form is so well shaped. The painting and the choice of colors is so wonderful. The designs are innovative and unique to Les. There is a feeling a movement with this piece. Les tells me “The design is based on Salado pottery from the Tonto Basin region. (1300 – 1400) I have juxtaposed the distinctive red, white and black coloring with the small elements of pastel colors for a modernist flair.” Notice the intricate pattern Les has painted on the neck of the jar. Everything comes together so well on this beautiful new piece.
