I bought this piece from him right before his death, and it has come back to our gallery. Beautifully rounded in form, with a small round opening, the complex floral pattern he painted is exceptional. It is always special to see his work again.

Kevin Trancosa, from the San Felipe Pueblo, was one of my favorite potters to work with. He was smart, thoughtful, kind and so talented. His career was cut short by an untimely death. He made pottery from 1990-97. All his work was hand coiled from clay he dug at the San Felipe Pueblo. He expertly worked with white micaceous clay. His painted design work, many of them eye dazzling, were brilliant. He worked hard with his forms, making the designs fit his shapes and structure. He was an award winning artist, earning accolades and honors at various venues.
