Working with Jennifer has been one of my greatest pleasures. She is so willing to talk about the piece she is creating, and we bounce ideas back and forth to each other about shape, form, and designs. I hadn’t had a plate in quite a while, and I think her depictions of mountain animals are so superb. So, in this off set medallion is a mountain lion in the forest amongst the trees. On the right side is a robust mule deer buck. On the upper right are majestic pinyon jays in flight. As background, Jennifer has added Pueblo symbols, feathers and spirals and other geometrics. It is truly magnificent. When you enlarge the photos of her detailed incising work, it is shocking how realistic she has drawn her subject matter. This is an absolute must have for collectors of traditionally fired and painted Santa Clara pottery.
