This new animal figure is a hand coiled and traditionally fired Rufous sided towhee bird by Jennifer Tafoya (Santa Clara) The male Spotted Towhees have jet-black upperparts and throat; their wings and back are spotted bright white. The flanks are warm rufous, and the belly is white with reddish brown tones on the side of the belly. In flight, look for white corners to the black tail. Jennifer is so skilled in accurately portraying these special, beautiful birds.
