This stunning new jar is hand coiled and deeply carved. It is traditionally fired, and the firing turned out so well! Harrison is calling it “Horses Running”. I think it is unique and elegant. I love how the flat surface allows for his wonderful horse imagery and other pottery symbols to really show. Eternal spirals, swirls, four directions, Greek key designs, all are so deeply carved. There is a magnificent balance between the polished areas, and the matte work. The lip is also flattened, and highly polished, to offset the matte neck of the jar. But the bottom of the piece is all polished. Everything about this jar really works. It is dramatic!
