I chose this particular jar by Harrison because it has some new elements on it that differ from other works. It is hand coiled, beautifully shaped, carved, and incised. The carving is deep and clean. Featuring a central dragonfly, Harrison has skillfully texturized their wings for added aesthetic beauty. There is a lovely contrast between all the polished and matte carved symbols. Spirals, mountains, stairstep forms, curves, and lines. The polished rim balances well with the similar polished band on the bottom. It’s a beautiful new jar.
