Working with Glendora is so gratifying. She is always willing to try new shapes and designs after our conversations about form and painting. I specifically asked for an open bowl with the black slipped scalloped rim and polychrome dragonflies and other geometrics on a buff colored pot. And …. she did exactly that! The shape is rounded and comes to a narrow bottom. Hand coiled and using all natural pigments, the dragonfly theme is wonderful. Even the attention to detail – the red and tan dots on the black rim match the same color tones on the dragonflies. It is an intricate and complex jar with a striking combination of designs, both painted and incised. The jar is signed on the bottom with a corn stalk, Glendora’s hallmark.
