We have always been partial to Erik’s plates and shallow bowls, and this new is no exception. This is the very largest plate we have had from him. Hand coiled, traditionally fired outside, and using all-natural pigments, it is a beauty. It is double sided, with a carved avanyu on the backside. Polished on the front, and micaceous on the back, it shows a very nice contrast. Erik explained to me that there are feathers and clouds in the wind and rain birds in the center. The key design represents blowing wind. Stunning!
