Dora has always been known for her typical jars, polished black with a reddish-brown, sienna duotone feature and frequently with a turquoise inset. Here she has added a micaceous slip to the black central band. She has delicately carved an avanyu (water serpent) Inset for the eye is a stunning turquoise cabochon from the Crescent Valley turquoise mine in Utah. This is one her classic style works.
