Daniel Lucario
Daniel Lucario is a member of the Acoma Pueblo tribe from New Mexico. He is from the Big Yellow Corn and Little Bear clan. His interest in pottery began in 2011, learning from his mother, Rebecca Lucario and aunt, Marilyn Ray. He began by making ornaments and says “I made many mistakes along the way. I always admired my mother’s work as a potter. Although she has made a living from pottery for over 40 years, I never knew I had the talent to follow in the footsteps of my mother. My inspirations are Bob Ross, my mother, and Aunt Marilyn who also great mentors. My mother learned the art of pottery from her grandmother, Delores Sanchez. As a male potter, I am honored to be among an elite group at Acoma Pueblo. The majority of potters from Acoma are women, Making pottery is very important to me because I am carrying on the tradition of my ancestors.”
