Born in 1987, Daniel is the son of Navajo potter, Harrison Begay, Jr. His mother, Marie, is from the Santa Clara pueblo where Daniel was raised. He learned his pottery making skills from his dad. Daniel uses both Santa Clara and Dine’ imagery – combining both cultures and traditions. Daniel works traditionally- hand coiling each piece, stone polishing and firing outdoors. Daniel has a Master of Business Administration and works as a Program Manager at The University of New Mexico. He signs his work “Daniel” and adds the year the pot was made. He has become a skilled potter and artist in his own right now, developing his own designs and techniques. We are so pleased to be working directly with Daniel.
