Christopher Youngblood (born in 1989) is a young potter who continues to excel in is work. Coming from a well-known pottery family, his current work continues that lineage of traditional pottery makers. His great grandmother is Margaret Tafoya, and his mother is Nancy Youngblood. He learned his pottery skills from Nancy, and now has taken off in his own direction. He has won the “Best of Class – Youth Award” at Santa Fe Indian Market and the prestigious “Best of Pottery” in 2014. He was featured in the 2010 Native People’s Magazine as one of the “Generation Next Emerging Potters”.

Chris spends quite a bit of time now working on his shapes and forms. Unique imagery is carved, as well as the classic avanyu, and melon shapes and carvings. Each piece is different, and the combinations of matte and mica work, added to his polishing, make for creative new works.
