This open bowl, created by Calvin in 2007, is one of the most beautiful pieces of his we have had. It is so amazingly lightweight, it feels like holding egg shells in your hand. The use of the two natural clays from Hopi and Laguna work so beautifully with this design. You can see the molded look when you look inside the bowl. The painting is some of the most precise work we have seen. Cross hatching on the upper band is meticulous. Calvin has stylized his design work on the lower quadrant, representing a Katsina face. This is a marvelous example of the fine hand coiled work that Calvin creates.
