Nestoria Cruz began learning all facets of heishi, bead and stone work from her grandparents at the age of SIX. As a teenager, in the early 1960’s she learned to make silver jewelry when she began working alongside her father, Lupe Pena. Nestoria is self-taught in all aspects of the designs and construction of her earrings and necklaces. She uses the highest grade of stones and shells. She makes all her own sterling silver findings used in her signature pieces. Her three sons, Daniel, Rodney and Simon, are all following in the family tradition of creating and crafting unique pieces.
