Allen Aragon

Navajo

We are so pleased to exhibit new work by Navajo artist, Allen Aragon.
Born in Ganado, Arizona, Allen was raised on a ranch near Chaco Canyon. He would go each month to weaving auction with his mother, an accomplished weaver. Surrounded by art, he became fascinated with the pottery that the women were bringing to sell. Allen has created a remarkable art form. To create this unique jewelry, Allen paints intricate abstract and animal images on pieces of pottery. He then fires them and sets each one in sterling silver to create beautiful pendants, earrings, rings, bolo ties and concho belts. Each piece of jewelry is truly one of a kind. He has received many top awards at SWAIA Indian Market in Santa Fe, at the Heard Museum Indian Market in Phoenix, at the Tesoro Foundation Market in Denver and many more shows.
