2 ¾” high by 4” long

What a gorgeous fully polished red bear. It is a beautiful shape, and the design work is old school, from the 1920’s. Russell was influenced by Susanna Aguilar, and Tonita Roybal. The deep red is a magnificent color. Russell’s design work shows the sun over the rainbow, and the falling rain under the sun. There are also incised eagle tail feathers. Embedded in the bear are five strands of super fine natural Heishi shell and jet. This shape is difficult to achieve, but Russell does it brilliantly. The bear is hollow as the piece is coil built. He also used black micaceous clay for the arches in the bear’s legs.
