This new hand coiled bowl is remarkable. Everything about it is marvelous. The coiling of the form, the shape, the painting, the design work, the colors and the fantastic lid. The colors Richard used to represent the floral images are stunning. Oranges, reds, blues, greens, tans. Everything blends together so well. I love the way the blooming bud sits atop the bowl in a way to complete the story. Richard describes it in this way “Budding flowers for me represent hope. (Dogwood buds in forests here are already swelling) Even when times seem so difficult, the sun warms the earth, buds burst with beauty, and enticing bees and life finds its way” What beautiful sentiments to portray in clay form.
