We haven’t had an orange piece by Preston in a while. This simple and graceful orange micaceous bowl is elegant. Shaped so beautifully, the added inset sterling silver adds such visual appeal. It creates his classic “shifting sand” pattern. The silver is cast against cuttle-fish bone (a type of squid). That design complements the plain mica clay so well. The jar is flat on the bottom and signed in the clay with Preston’s hallmark which is a woman carrying a child as the hallmark for his name in Hopi.
