This is a hand coiled and traditionally fired lidded black miniature bowl with thirty-two feathers and two water serpents. The carving on this piece is exceptional. The consistency of the size of the feathers is remarkable. Polishing the edges of those feathers that have been scaled to this size is an amazingly difficult feat. There is a perfect tight fitting carved round lid on top. Working in this scale is so difficult. Nancy is one of the few potters that can accomplish this highly skilled work.
