This new bowl by Mark Tahbo is very beautiful. Mark has painted two Hopi parrots using both beige and white slips, and has connected them to an eagle tail. He used two Hopi clay bodies on this piece, hoping to be able to achieve an orangish hue after the firing. The clay colors are subtle, and the overall effect is one cohesive looking orangish cast. The painting on the eagle tails is classic design work. Very rich feeling. The shape is lovely, and the polishing inside the rim on the top adds to the overall smooth appearance.
