This gorgeous pot by Les is called “Riffs” Here is his own description: “The pot “Riffs” is an abstraction with its structure based on music composition. In music, a riff is defined as ”a short repeated phrase, unique in its melodic composition, frequently played over changing chords or harmonies”. In my design composition, the “riffs” are the segments of designs that float on the understructure of pointillism and curving lines. This pot is from a continuing series which is based on music. Many of these pieces involve layering design elements similar to music or group compositions which involve layering bass and drum patterns, rhythm chords, harmonies and solo or lead improvisations.
