This new hand coiled creation by Jamie Zane Smith is called “Sunrise” Jamie explained to me, “ The concept of this piece has to do with the first sunlight coming through the leaves of the Maple trees. The edges of the leaves create the shapes which the orange light filters through. The space between the trees defines the shape and creates the vision of perception. The Maples, which are the leaders of the phratry of trees in our stories, shape the light in a special way. The sunlight appears to be shapeless energy but it is geometric and tangible as defined by the gaps in the canopy. The quiet secrets of the past are known and alive in the culture of the wild. This piece represents an inner rejoice and a subtle revelation brought about by light moving through trees.” Such a creative endeavor by Jamie!
