This new micaceous pot is different from anything we have ever had by Hubert. He is actually “revisiting” a style and form he made in the 90’s. When he made it then, he didn’t use mica slips. So the addition of the mica work is the update to this design. This is a cone jar with mineral pigments where he has painted lightning and band designs. When I first saw the completed jar I thought the design work looked like birds in flight. But Hubert calls it lightning patterns. It is so unique and exceptionally well made.
