A thick paneled, sterling silver body cut out in the shadowbox style with feather and decorative designs makes up in this gorgeous pendant by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration. The body of the pendant is surrounded by a sterling silver rope pattern as well as a sterling band stamped and cut out to form various patterns and appliqued with two rows of small sterling dots, and hangs from a detailed and intricate sterling silver sunface head. It is attached by a jump ring so that the body is mobile. The sunface of the piece features deeply grooved rectangular eyes and a round, appliqued mouth, while the forehead is stamped with vertical and horizontal lines. The head is finished with a circle of delicately stamped sterling silver feathers surrounding it, creating the traditional sunface.
